FAQ

Custom dress socks questions, answered.

Everything buyers ask before they order — minimums, timings, artwork and print options.

What is the minimum order?

Our minimum order is just 12 pairs — one wedding party or one small team is a normal order — with volume tiers for uniform programmes, brands and retail.

How fast will my dress socks arrive?

Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and finished socks ship in about 2 weeks, with express turnaround available when a wedding or launch date is fixed.

Why do you talk about the calf band so much?

Because staying up is the entire unspoken job of a dress sock, and the band does all of it: its depth, its elastane, and where it lands on the leg. Mid-calf socks grip a working muscle and lose by mid-afternoon; over-the-calf socks anchor above the muscle where the leg itself holds them. The pattern gets the compliments; the band earns them.

What is a hand-linked toe and why does it matter?

The toe of a sock has to be closed, and there are two ways: a fast overlocked seam that leaves a ridge exactly where a dress shoe presses on your toes all day, or hand-linking — joining the fabric loop to loop into a flat, nearly invisible finish. It is the single touch-difference between a fine sock and a filler sock, and every sock we make is hand-linked.

Cotton lisle or merino?

Lisle for the classic dress hand — breathing, cool, with the mercerized sheen that takes deep colour. Merino for regulation — warm in winter, cool in summer, fresh through travel. Both are knitted at fine gauge with hand-linked toes and honestly stated fibre mixes; many programmes run both by season.

Why is there nylon in your socks?

Because a genuinely 100% cotton or 100% merino dress sock wears through at the heel on a schedule and the label is hiding it. A stated minority of nylon where wear lives and elastane where stretch lives is what makes fine gauge survive real life. The exact mix is printed on every quote.

Can you match our brand or uniform colours exactly?

Yes — in yarn, against your physical cloth or brand reference, confirmed before knitting. Screens lie about navy in particular. Colours, band spec, fibre mix and size curves are held on file, so programmes and reorders match the pairs they join.

Do you make logo merch socks, athletic socks or grip socks?

No. Logo-knit crew and merch socks, cushioned athletic socks and studio grip socks are each their own product with their own specialist — the merch-sock people are genuinely good at shins that shout. Everything we make is a fine-gauge dress sock that agrees with tailoring.
